Nazi parade on Königsplatz in the 1930s

Third Reich Tour

Walk through the places where National Socialism rose in Munich, to understand how it came to power and how the city remembers its victims today.

The tour

Understanding, so we never forget

Munich was the “capital of the movement”: the Nazi party was founded here, and the 1923 putsch failed here. On this walk we visit the sites of those years and look at how a democracy collapsed, always keeping the memory of the victims at the centre.

What you will see

  • The Feldherrnhalle and the Beer Hall Putsch
  • Viscardigasse and quiet resistance
  • Places of remembrance in the city centre

A respectful tour

We approach a difficult subject with historical rigour and care. At the end of the walk, each guest decides how much to give the guide.

The itinerary

  1. Feldherrnhalle

The scene of the failed 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, and of the cult the regime built around it.

  2. Viscardigasse

The lane where many locals slipped past to avoid saluting the Nazi memorial.

  3. Königsplatz

The former party district, with buildings that still tell of those years.

  4. Places of remembrance

How Munich remembers the victims of National Socialism today.

  5. And much more

These are just the highlights; along the way you will discover many more places and stories.
